Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center's 2014-2015 Research Funds and Dissertation Fellowship Review Meeting brought to a Successful End

On July 11th, 2014, Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center's 2014-2015 Research Funds and Dissertation Fellowship Review and Dissertation Proposal Meeting was held successfully at Suite 508, Liao Kaiyuan Building at Peking University. The Center invited Dr. Canfei He, Professor of the College of Urban and Environmental Science and deputy director of Peking University-Lincoln Institute Center, Professor Shunfeng Song from University of Neveda, Professor George CS Lin from Hong Kong University, and Professor Zhilin Liu from Tsinghua University as the evaluation team members. After listening carefully to all the research proposals, the jury awarded the top 16, which closely relate to China's current issues about urban land use and development, the research funds, and fellowship. Among them, 6 teachers from well-known domestic universities got 2014-2015 research funds, 10 master students and PhD students got dissertation fellowship. The awardees are as follows.

Research Funds: in order to strengthen the study on urban economics, land use and policy, urban development and regional planning, public finance and property tax, urban transportation, housing policy, environmental policy, and sustainable development, Peking University - Lincoln Institute Center awards research fund programs every year. The application time is Jan 1 to May 15. The funding period is one year and the amount is 50000 to 70000 RMB. All the young scholars, who are under 40 years old, hold PhD degrees in the related majors and are currently doing related research work at universities or other research institutes, are qualified for application.
 
Dissertation Fellowship: in order to promote the cultivation of talents, Peking University - Lincoln Institute Center launch the dissertation fellowship program targeting all the master and PhD students across the country. All the applicants must be master and PhD students of the second year or above and dissertation proposal has already been approved (supervisor's signature needed). Applicants' research areas should relate to urban economics, land use and policy, urban development and regional planning, public finance and property tax, urban transportation, housing policy, environmental policy and sustainable development. Funding period is one year and the amount is 20000 to 35000 RMB.
